This series is a survey of the lives of Samuel, Saul, David, and Solomon. Launching from the theme of Hannah's prayer in 1 Samuel 2 the series addresses man's place before God. In Romans 12:3 Paul urges us not to think of ourselves more highly than we ought, but to think with sober judgment. This is largely the struggle of the first kings of Israel and it a universal struggle for evey man.
