By God’s grace, I became a Christian in college. Our team’s sports psychologist told our team that spiritual health is an important aspect of mental health, so, seeking to be a better athlete, I started reading the Bible and researching Christianity. I quickly found out that I was not a Christian and would have to stand before a holy God one day to answer for my sins. Matthew 7:21-23 (“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven…”) particularly caused me to fear for my soul. I saw my need for a Savior, and as I continued reading saw that one was graciously provided in Christ. By God’s grace I was convicted of my sin, repented, and trusted in Christ.
