KidCity is the children's ministry of Milwood Baptist Church. We strive to give children a foundational understanding of God by creatively engaging them with basic concrete truths in the Bible. Our hope is that by partnering with parents and families, children will come to know God, believe in His Son, and grow in their desire to joyfully glorify Him.
Kids Blocks, Sunday Morning, 9:30 am
Upon arriving at Milwood, you will need to check your child(ren) in to our computer system before dropping them off in a class. For your convenience, visitors can click here to begin this process now. Once checked in, you will receive nametags and a security tag for your child. Place one label on your child, give one label to the teacher in their class, and parents keep the security tag for pick-up. Classes are divided as follows:
Birth to 18 months
18 months to 3 years
3 years to 5 years
Extended Session, Sunday Morning, 10am // Birth - 5 years
Extended session is an extension of our Building Block classes that allows for child care during the entire Sunday service. There is a short Bible story and time for play. Children birth to 5 years do not need to be picked up between Building Blocks and the church service. Infants to Pre-K will remain in their classes for extended session.
Extended session is not offered for K-5th grade children. Kids in the K-1st grade class will need to be picked by their parents before the service begins. Kids in the 2nd-5th grade class will be escorted to the worship service by the Building Block teachers.
KidCity Club, Sunday Morning, 11am // 5-9 yr old
While we do not provide full child care for older children during the service time, we recognize the desire some parents have for their child to learn in a more active environment. We invite all kids ages 5-9 years to join in the congregational singing and scripture reading with their parents. After congregational worship, those children can meet at the back of the sanctuary to be dismissed to the third floor for KidCity Club. KidCity Club is a time of learning and fun. Children learn, discuss, and memorize scripture during this time. There is also a time of games, art, or a chance to play outside.
“Now this is the commandment—the statutes and the rules—that the LORD your God commanded me to teach you, that you may do them in the land to which you are going over, to possess it, that you may fear the LORD your God, you and your son and your son’s son, by keeping all his statutes and his commandments, which I command you, all the days of your life, and that your days may be long. Hear therefore, O Israel, and be careful to do them, that it may go well with you, and that you may multiply greatly, as the LORD, the God of your fathers, has promised you, in a land flowing with milk and honey.” ~Deuteronomy 6: 1- 3 (emphasis added)
