KidCity is the Children's Ministry of Milwood Baptist Church. We strive to give children a foundational understanding of God by creatively engaging them with basic concrete truths in the Bible. Our hope is that by partnering with parents and families, children will come to know God, believe in His Son Jesus Christ, and grow in their desire to joyfully glorify Him.

Check-In

Upon arriving at Milwood, you will need to check your children in to our computer system before dropping them off in a class. For your convenience, visitors can click here to begin this process now.  Once checked in, you will receive nametags and a security tag for your child.  Place one label on your child, give one label to the teacher in their class, and parents keep the security tag for pick-up.

We divide children's classes into two timeframes on Sunday: Kids' Building Blocks (9:30-10:30a.m.) and Extended Session (during the main service).

Kids' Building Blocks (9:30-10:30a.m.)

Building Blocks is a chance for kids to dive deeper into God's Word. From 9:30 - 10:30 before the main service, parents can drop their kids off in the appropriate classes, where they will learn fun and meaningful lessons from the Bible.

During this time, parents can be free to join the adult Building Blocks classes. For children from birth up to 5 years old, parents can leave children in their classrooms throughout the remainder of the service. For parents of children in kindergarten-5th grade, you will need to pick up your children from their Building Blocks classroom to join the worship and Scripture reading portion of the service. After worship and the announcements, K-5th graders will be released to their classes again for Extended Session.

Extended Session (Child care and kids' classes during the main service)

Extended session is an extension of our Building Block classes that allows for child care during the entire Sunday service. There is a short Bible story and time for play. Children birth to 5 years do not need to be picked up between Building Blocks and the church service. Infants to Pre-K will remain in their classes for extended session.

KidCity Club, Sunday Morning, 11am // 5-9 yr olds

It is our desire that older children (elementary age) participate in the time of worship with the church. We invite all kids ages 5-9 years old to join in the congregational singing and Scripture reading with their parents. After congregational worship, those children can meet at the back of the sanctuary to be dismissed for KidCity Club. KidCity Club is a time of learning and fun. Children learn, discuss, and memorize scripture during this time. There is also a time of games, art, or a chance to play outside.

*Classes on the First Floor

Room 102: Infants (Birth to 18 months)

Room 103: Toddlers (18 months to 3 y.o.)

Room 104: Pre-K (3 y.o. to 5 y.o.)

Room 105: Kindergarten through 5th grade (5 y.o. to 9 y.o.)

*In years past, we often split up classes between the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd floor. Due to concerns during this time of Covid-19, throughout the remainder of 2021, we will keep all kids in classrooms located on the first floor.

“Now this is the commandment—the statutes and the rules—that the LORD your God commanded me to teach you, that you may do them in the land to which you are going over, to possess it, that you may fear the LORD your God, you and your son and your son’s son, by keeping all his statutes and his commandments, which I command you, all the days of your life, and that your days may be long. Hear therefore, O Israel, and be careful to do them, that it may go well with you, and that you may multiply greatly, as the LORD, the God of your fathers, has promised you, in a land flowing with milk and honey.” ~Deuteronomy 6: 1- 3 (emphasis added)
