As women, we are the gatekeepers of our home. The teachers we allow to teach us, the people we allow to influence us, the doctrine we adopt for ourselves and our families—all of these things matter immensely and are too important for us to ignore.
Join us October 20th from 9:30am - 3:00pm for a time of prayer, worship, fellowship and teaching. We’ll gather around tables and learn how God urges us to pay attention, to guard our hearts and to protect our homes.
"But I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed, and I am convinced that he is able to guard until that day what has been entrusted to me.” 2 Timothy 1:12.

Guest Speaker: AMBER IRVING
Amber loves nothing more than teaching women and kids of all ages about God’s amazing plan as revealed in His Word. She currently loves her role as the Kids Minister at First Baptist Church in Gonzales where her husband is the senior pastor. She also loves serving the women in her community through her role as lead teacher for the Gonzales Ladies Community Bible Study and through a new ministry called Core Restore Wellness that seeks to educate and encourage women in honoring God with their bodies, minds and souls. She and her husband have been in ministry together for 18 years, although their service to the Lord began long ago as they both grew up in the Church. She remembers asking Jesus to be her boss when she was just eight years old, but it wasn’t until her college years at UMHB that she began to truly follow Jesus. She felt God’s special call to ministry in 1998 and is honored to serve Him wherever she goes.
Amber and Chris married in 2000 and have six wonderful children, Matt (23), Jake (21), Karalyn (13), Katie (8), Kylie (8) and Ben (4).
When she’s not chasing the children, Amber enjoys playing the piano, sewing, traveling, teaching Scripture, blogging at amberirving.com and dating her husband.
